Miss Singapore Press Conference 2016

Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant 2016 is back again this year organised by ERM Singapore.

On Wednesday, the press conference was held at the Orchid Country Club, introducing the shortlisted 20 finalists in the running to claim the title of Miss Singapore 2016.

Our host for the day was Lynette Tan, who was recently crowned Mrs Singapore Universe 2016.

Rachel, Chairman of Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant 2016 gave an opening speech for the press conference.

The girls entered the conference room and graced the stage and presented themselves as contestants of Miss Singapore 2016.

As the theme is Beauty With a Heart, the contestants not only have to shine from their looks but their inner beauty as well. They were introduced to us and they gave a brief introduction of themselves and what they would like to achieve of the contest.

 Tania Tan, a freelance actor who wishes to promote and raise awareness of not only outer but inner beauty.
 May Ngiam, a product specialist who hopes to reach out to as many orphanages in need around the world. 
 Alexa Lee, a student and BIM Engineer. She wishes to raise awareness on the issue of sexually abused children and extend her help to them.
 Rita Dhar, a student who wishes to work with Singapore organizations to resolve the problem of global warming to give back to the community. 
 Vanessa Ng, a financial service consultant who aims to promote breast cancer foundation awareness. 
 Felicia Phang, a Temasek Polytechnic student who wishes to help out elderly in Old Folks Home.
 Auby, an undergraduate in SIM wishes to do her family proud by winning this competition.
 Lovelle suffers from Crohn's disease wishes to inspire other patients with illness to have a positive mindset. 
 Lynn Qou, a graduate of NTU who hopes to be a companion to elderly who are lonely and suffering from depression. 
 Jolyn Ng, who wishes to help the underprivileged people to have access to healthy convenience food.
 Vanessa Peh, an undergraduate at SIM wants to spread the awareness of bullying and body image issues to girls. 

 Divya, an undergraduate at SIM Global wishes to encourage girls to embrace their uniqueness and individuality.  
 Jeslyn Sng, a graduate of SOTA wishes to start her own orphanage foundation to develop orphan's talents and achieve their dreams. 

 Prisiclla Martin hopes to work with children and hopes to run her own children's pageant to boost their confidence about themselves. 
 Chloe Choong runs her own ladies apparel online and hopes to start a career in the fashion modelling industry.

 Jolene Ong wishes to reach out a helping hand and listening ear to teenagers in need, especially teens  facing family issues as well as helping teens suffering from depression and anorexia.

 Gladys, a graduate from University of London ad wealth planner at AXA Singapore hopes to spread joy and love to those who suffer from depression and distorted body issues.



Shanaya hopes to represent Singapore in the Pageant industry and encourages people to work hard for a positive outcome. 

We had a sneak preview of the Talent segment where the contestants showcase their talents to gain more points to accumulate towards the total score for the competition.

If you would like to see the girls showcasing their talent, you can head down to KM Mall (Paya Lebar MRT Station) to view their performance on 31st July, Sunday at 1PM!They have put in a lot of effort in practicing for this talent show. Do head down and give them your support!

There was a surprise fitness challenge whereby the girls are put to the test of 'survivial of the fittest'. The girls were being tested their core strength and endurance by planking. The last one left planking would earn herself 3 points for the competition.

Gladys was the winner of the fitness challenge with a stunning timing of close to 6mins. Amazing!



The girls would also have a Fashion showcase at Luxi Dance Club on 1 August at 8pm. Tickets are selling at $38 with 2 complimentary housepour drinks. You would get to see the girls showcasing themselves in their swimwear so what are you waiting for! Subsidary awards will also be given out on the day itself, namely Miss Singapore Tourism Queen 2016, Miss Singapore Chinatown 2016 and Miss Singapore Global Beauty Queen 2016.
