{Sponsored post} : Battle of KFC New Wings - #kfcoishii vs #kfcmashisoyo

August 23, 2015

Are you a hardcore fan of KFC's wings? If you are, you are in for a sweet delight!

As Singapore is a multi-racial country, we are exposed to many different kinds of culture. Recently, there has been a spike in interest in the Korean culture, especially with the rise of Kpop, Korean dramas as well as the mouth-watering Korean BBQ. Japanese culture is integrating into Singapore as well with many sushi joints, anime lovers out there.

Due to the increase in popularity of the Japanese as well as the Korean culture, KFC has introduced two new flavours - Freshly breaded in-store with a special batter, these juicy wings are cooked to crispy perfection.

They are coated with Umadere, a tangy yet savoury Japanese sauce wings

The other would be coated with Yang Yeum sauce, a Korean-inspired sweet and spicy sauce wings

Last week, I was invited to Kallang's KFC for an exclusive tasting event to get the taste of the new KFC wings before they were avaliable in stores.

                                                                       The girls with me!

Before that, let's go into a little background information about KFC. KFC is the leading quick-service restaurant chain in the chicken category in Singapore. KFC is renowned for serving its customers delicious, complete family meals at affordable prices. The first KF restaurant in Singapore was opened in 1977 and now has 87 restaurant island wide.

The KFC at Kallang Stadium has been newly renovated earlier this year back in April and reopened in May.

Classic white tables and chairs are replaced by wooden textures, white washed                                                                                          brick walls.

These are the New KFC wings, Yang Yeum(left) and Umadere(right)

These are the Umadere wings. It is coated with a special batter which makes it taste crispy because of the breaded wings and it's coating has a sweet taste to it.

If you absolutely love crispy wings served in korean restaurants, Umadere wings taste the same, if not better than them. This would be an absolute must-try for all sweet tasting wings lovers.

Yang Yeum wings are the classic chilli lovers out there. The Yang Yeum sauce is extremely spicy that sends chills down your spine and burning sensation down your throat. However, it leaves a sweet after taste to it which gives a good burst of flavour in your mouth.

For people who absolutely love spicy food, these wings are a must try!

Everyone's tasting the new savoury wings

So the question is, which wings do I prefer?

It's definitely the wings coated with Umadere sauce because it has just the right amount of sweetness and yet so crispy at the same time!
